California to give out Drivers Licenses to Illegal Aliens
September 2nd, 2012
I have no problem if the State of California gives out Drivers Licenses to people who broke the law by sneaking across the border – just as long as they make it as difficult for an illegal alien to get a Drivers License as it is for a citizen to get a Minor Use Permit. So far I have spent 2 years and 7 months and several hundred of thousand dollars trying to get my Minor Use Permit and I am still waiting …
California to give out Drivers Licenses to Illegal Aliens
It is really getting crazy in California. The state is on the edge of bankruptcy. Cities inside California are already bankrupt, and more will follow, maybe even Los Angeles. Social Services are being cut, parks are being closed, tuition at State colleges and Universities are being raised again. California is the worst place to do business in the United States. And our elected leaders have decided that this nonsense is what they need to work on.

The Coastal Commission staff wants Morro Bay to relocate their sewer plant

The same guys at the Coastal Commission that have been delaying my house for a year and a half (and counting) are also busy making trouble over in Morro Bay. The Wall Street Journal covers the story:

Dave Watson talks with the Coastal Commission staff – and I am delayed another month
September 26th, 2012
As always just getting one of the coastal commission staffers on the phone is a major victory. Dave Watson finally got Daniel Robinson to return his call today.
Dave found out during the call that the staff had indeed gotten the modified plans we had sent them. Dave went over with Daniel the changes we had made to the design of my house to minimize the visibility of my house from the parking lot at Pirate’s Cove. This was the staff’s main concern about my house. The end result is that the house isn’t changed very much but it will be dug down 15ft below the existing grade of the site. The removed dirt will be used to make a berm that will shield the view of my house from the parking lot.
And there is one more thing: because Daniel Robinson is so busy, he cannot finish rewriting his report about my house in time for the October CCC hearing. Which means I am delayed ANOTHER MONTH!
Hopefully I can get in front of the Coastal Commission in November.

California’s High Speed Rail may be derailed by CEQA
September 26th, 2012
In one of the most ironic turn of events that I have ever witnessed, the insanely expensive high speed rail system of California may be stopped from being constructed because of CEQA!
California must begin construction on the high speed rail system by the end of 2012 or they will lose any further Federal funding. This is Governor Jerry Brown’s favorite project, and a signature part of President Obamas stimulis act of 2009. And now it may be stopped because of delays caused by CEQA!
The slow death of Obama’s high speed rail continues
